My name is Vanessa, I am the owner of Agave Pet Grooming and The Barkery. My passion and love are furbabies. I have been grooming for about 18 years. I am certified and also have a bachelors in business. My dream has always been to work with furbabies.I wanted to have a place where they come in and feel safe and comfortable. AS if they were walking into a home for a playdate. It is in my logo , "I'LL TREAT YOUR PETS AS IF THEY WERE MY OWN." And I honeslty do. I wanted to help the furbabies feel beautiful and help their fur and skin stay healthy. I started my journey as a volunteer at a Vet when I was 20 years old. Later became a vet tech assistant there, and that is when I knew my passion was working with furbabies. I ended up moving to Arlington, Tx to go to school and get certified as a pet groomer. I knew one day I would want to own my own storefront, but I needed to finish school first.I worked at PEtSmart for about 5 years off and on. From Arlington to El Paso. I finished school and worked at a corporate office as an staff accountant, and grooming at my mothers garage as Agave Pet Groomng independently. After my moms garage I got together with Eastwood Animal Clinic, where the owner, let me run my business at his location. After three years there, I knew I was ready. On October 1, 2015 I opened my storefront. My love for furbabies grows more and more everyday. I believe they are the heart of this world, And because of this I knew I wanted to help keep them stay healthy, not just in grooming but in their food, so I opened The Barkery. Not all furbabies can eat what other furbabies can, so I wanted to bake treats that were gluten free, grain free, and treats that are healthy for their body. I was never a baker, but I taught myself to bake just so I can treat the furbabies to delicious treats. Mugsy was my love and one of my fur babies. he is the mascot for Agave and THe Barkery. He unfortunately crossed the rainbow bridge but lives on at Agave and The Barkery. He was a pet therapy dog as well, in which I was his handler. Stop by and you can see his wall of fame .
